Surprisingly, this Altamira Oriole is a member of the blackbird family. It is a large songbird indigenous to the ole Lone Star State. I do have an intense Texas nostalgia - this little guy would look great with a belt buckle and handlebar stache.
And that is a wrap! Day Thirty's photo was taken at Oliver Nature Park in Mansfield, TX earlier this summer. The labeling of each drawing evolved during the project. In the bottom left-hand corner is the sequence number of the drawing within the 30-day time frame and the location of where the reference photo was taken. My take away from this particular project was having the opportunity to spend more time with a special moment I had in nature. It allowed me to marvel at the intricacies of the plants and animals around us.
