Project V Day Twenty Four: Sweetgum Fruit

This is totally a dried Sweetgum fruit.  You know how I know?  Cuz today I bought Trees:  A simplified field guide to the trees of North America by Peterson First Guides.  It was $2.48.  Sure...it was printed in 1993 but how much can trees change in 20 years?

Sweetgum fruit #1:  "Hey, your prickles are nice."
Sweetgum fruit #2:  "I know.  So are yours."

Project IV Day 18: Turkey Vulture (again)

I can't stop with the Turkey Vultures. I think I might have been one in a past life. Is that why I'm such a dirtbag ?

Project VII-Day Thirty: Grass

And that is a wrap! Day Thirty's photo was taken at Oliver Nature Park in Mansfield, TX earlier this summer. The labeling of each drawing evolved during the project. In the bottom left-hand corner is the sequence number of the drawing within the 30-day time frame and the location of where the reference photo was taken. My take away from this particular project was having the opportunity to spend more time with a special moment I had in nature. It allowed me to marvel at the intricacies of the plants and animals around us.
