Project VII-Day Two: Sunburnt Pomegranate

     It's always a good sign when things don't get shut down after Day One. Day Two is a sunburnt pomegranate. And it's not just any old ordinary sunburnt pomegranate but a drawing from a photo I took of the most beautiful sunburnt pomegranate I've ever seen. It was lying on the ground within the fence lines of Madrono Ranch in Medina, TX in April of 2013. Madrono Ranch was an artist residency that provided complete isolation and unwavering focus on making work. So much so in fact that it gifted me with the quiet mind set of finding sheer joy in a fallen sunburnt pomegranate.

     And that is a wrap! Day Thirty's photo was taken at Oliver Nature Park in Mansfield, TX earlier this summer. The labeling of each drawing evolved during the project. In the bottom left-hand corner is the sequence number of the drawing within the 30-day time frame and the location of where the reference photo was taken. My take away from this particular project was having the opportunity to spend more time with a special moment I had in nature. It allowed me to marvel at the intricacies of the plants and animals around us.
